Watertown Storm Program Overview

The Watertown Storm Baseball Program is a SELECT / TRAVEL program and is available to a limited number of players from ages 8 to 14.  This is a competitive program that requires commitment on the part of players and their parents.

• The goal of the STORM program is to develop players to play at their highest level possible and to ensure a positive and fun environment for your athlete to develop.
• It is preferred that players reside within the Watertown Unified School District; however, it is not mandatory.

• Player Evaluations take place mid-summer.  Teams are selected and player notifications are emailed within a week of the tryout (players selected to a team are required to complete their registration within a timeframe following the invite to secure their position on the team.)
• There may One or Two Teams per age group depending on the numbers AND evaluations.
• Storm contains teams at the following levels:  U8, U9, U10, U11, U12, U13, and U14
• A pre-season Tune-Up Clinic is available (typically in March) as part of the Storm Program FREE of charge to our members.
• Indoor workouts begin in early January, during which we start to build the foundation for a successful season. Players are expected to make the majority of their team's indoor workouts.
• Teams play league games typically during the week against teams throughout southeastern Wisconsin from mid-April through the end of July. (50% of the games involve travel to other communities). Teams also play 3-4 weekend tournaments.  Teams play from 25 to 35 games in a season.
• Travel to other communities is required, though carpooling is often available among the team parents if your child needs a ride.
• Time commitment is typically one time a week in January thru March and then twice a week from April thru July.  (Not counting Tournament weekends during the season, where Saturday & Sunday play is not always predetermined.)
• Parents and players participate and volunteer for the Storm Armageddon Tournament which takes place in June or July depending on Age Group. This is the program's significant fundraising event -- Parents may choose from various responsibilities throughout the weekend. Participation is mandatory for parents. 
• Costs are determined prior to registration each year, there is a registration fee as well as a volunteer deposit.  (The volunteer deposit is 100% refundable after completing your 15 volunteer hours.)
